Guided walks in the Ouse Valley and Downs around Lewes

A series of walks to suit all ages – family walks, Lewes-coast walks, all day Lewes-Blackcap-Kingston Ridge-Firle Beacon-Caburn-Lewes, and walks for special occasions.

Guide: Russell Beck was born and raised in the district, and was brought up walking the Downs with his father and grandfather. Head for the Downs takes its inspiration from a group Russell used to walk with in Wales, which was called Head for the Hills, conceived and led by the incomparable Lol Golding.

Children and young people:Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dogs: Well trained and controlled dogs are welcome on Head for the Downs walks.  However owners must adhere to the country code regarding livestock and defer to the judgement of  the guide as to when it is appropriate for dogs to be on leads or leave a walk.
